Based on published Hogdon sub sonic loads for 45-70 I think you should look into what other info you can find regarding using Trail Boss for a subsonic load since both cartridges are pushing. NOTE: I cannot recommend you load anything unless you find the info from a reloading manual, but this may give you a place to start your information search. I have seen posts and videos of subsonic 458 SOCOM with similar complaints but they always seem to be using a bullet that does not expand at subsonic velocities. I was planning on using these for a suppressed bolt action for hunting but havent been able to find load data on them to determine which cartridge to use.
